       League Cup
       Southampton  Women  produced  arguably  the
       result of the round when they defeated Cardiff City
       Ladies 5-1 to book their place in the last sixteen.
       Cardiff have a fine record in the cup in recent years
       but  it  was  goals  from  Rachel  Okoro,  Sian  Wylie,
       Brittany  Jeal,  Emma-Jane  May  and  Kiera  Heslam
       which  took  Southampton  through,  whilst  Olivia
       Thompson  scored  a  consolation  for  Cardiff.
       Southampton will be at home again in the Second
       Round, to Crawley Wasps who won 1-0 away to
       Gillingham,  Nicola  Gibson  settled  a  tightly
       contested tie with the only goal.
              The two teams at the top of the Southern
       Premier Division met each other for the first time
       this season and it was Southampton FC Women
       who were narrow 1-0 winners at Ipswich Town.  Nottingham Forest’s Becky Anderson is tackled by
       Lucia Kendall scored the only goal of the game, ten  Hannah McWilliams of Doncaster Rovers Belles
       minutes from time. The Saints will be away again in  (Julian Barker).
       the  next  round,  to  Milton  Keynes  Dons  who
       defeated Cambridge City 2-1. Tricia Gould and Nicole Pepper were on target for the Dons
       as they kept up their good record in the cup in recent seasons, whilst City replied with a
       Grace Stanley penalty.
              Loughborough Lightning went through to the last sixteen with a 2-1 win away
       to  Cambridge  Utd.  Lauren  Taft  and  Jessica  Richardson  were  the  scorers  for
       Loughborough, with Laura Baker replying. They will now be at home to Huddersfield
       Town, who edged past Middlesbrough with a 3-2 victory. Kate Mallin netted two first
       half goals for Town and Ria Montgomery netted the winner after the break, whilst 'Boro's
       replies came from Elysia Boddy and Felicity Jones.
              Derby County maintained their good run of form by scoring seven times without
       reply against Burton Albion. Precious Hamilton, Amy Sims and Ellie Gilliatt all netted
       twice for the Ewe Rams, with Jade Formaston adding the other. Next up for Derby will be
       Brighouse Town who came through a tricky tie at Newcastle Utd with a 3-1 victory.
       Leah Embley and Ellie White were on target for Brighouse along with an own goal, whilst
       the home side's consolation came from Kacie Elson.
              Lily Patrick and Sophie Tierney each scored twice, with Bianca Owens adding the
       other,  as  Norton  &  Stockton  Ancients  won  5-0  against  Chester-le-Street  Town.
       Norton  will  be  home  again  in  the  next  round  to  Northern  Premier  Division  high  fliers
       Fylde Women, who came away from Durham Cestria with a 2-1 victory under their
       belts. Beth Donoghue gave the Coasters a first minute lead and Amy Hughes added the
       second twenty minutes later, before Jordan Atkinson pulled one back for Durham on the
       hour.
              Liverpool  Feds  continued  their  good  season  by  beating  Chorley  3-0.  Abby
       Pope, Amy Seagraves and Demi Devereaux all scored second half goals for the Feds who
       have been rewarded with a plum home tie against Wolverhampton Wanderers, 7-0
       winners over Hull City. Amber Hughes was on target twice for Wolves along with Helen
       Dermody, Beth Merrick, Anna Morphet, Amy Dicken and Alisha Miller.
