have come as a team and shows how the strengths are not concentrated in one area of this
team - we are consistent in quality throughout and this is important as football is a game of
eleven players, so all these strengths combined highlights the potential that we have this
season. It also provides huge confidence to our goalkeeper as keeping a clean sheet is not easy,
especially in the National League where the standard and quality is top level.
WSS: This week it’s the FA Cup and you face familiar opponents in Sporting
Khalsa. The game looks to be close on paper, and you drew when you met in the
league this season, so are you expecting another tight game?
MM: Yeah, Sporting Khalsa this weekend in such a competitive cup tie and I’m sure both
teams have everything to play for. When we played Khalsa a couple weeks back it was only
our fourth game playing together as a team, therefore I think we were still getting to know
each other’s playing style. With hard work in training which has been put in since then and
the positive results we have had the previous two weeks, I think we are more than prepared
and we will give everything we have in that game because the FA Cup is such a privileged
opportunity and it is a chance for any team to prove a point. However I believe Khalsa will be
more than ready for it too so we have to go into the game and give our everything as a team
and hopefully this time the game doesn’t go to penalties as I believe even though we have more
than enough quality to be successful in penalties, I believe we can finish the
game before that will be necessary.
WSS: Looking ahead, how confident are you of building on your good start and
       staying amongst the top teams?
MM: Looking into the rest of this season, I am confident that we can be consistent and keep
providing results. It will be difficult as there is some quality sides and every team in this
league deserves where they currently are, however with the rebuild and the constant
development this side is experiencing, I believe we will keep providing results and will most
definitely be finishing in the upper half of the table this season. We won’t win the league and
we all know that as our journey for that achievement has only just started, however I am
confident we will finish the upper half of the table this season. Bring it on!
       Our thanks to Maisie!
