Apindia Gille and Katharine Nutman each bagging braces with Grace Gillard, Hayley
West and Eva Frazzoni also on target.
An extra time goal by substitute Vicky Vipond earned Keynsham Town a 1-0
victory over Moneyfields and Cardiff City Ladies beat Southampton Women by
the same scoreline, Ellie Sargent was on target. Connie Pengelly (2) and Zoe Watkins
were the scorers as Exeter City defeated Maidenhead Utd 3-1, Megan Halfacree
netting the visitors' consolation.
* On Wednesday night, Brighouse Town drew 1-1 with Huddersfield Town in the
Northern Premier Division, goals coming from Sophie John and Laura Elford
respectively. The following evening, Cardiff City Ladies went to the top of Division
One South West by beating Keynsham Town 6-0. Chloe Lloyd scored a hat-trick of
penalties, Grace Seren scored twice and Cori Williams was also on target.
Reserve Section League Cup
It was a similar story in this competition as the teams met each other to decide whether
they would be moving into the Cup or the Plate. Stockport County were the winners
of the Plate last season and they compete in it again this time after being beaten by
Barnsley, for whom Louise Biggins and Delia Hurdiss each hit hat-tricks, with Kelsey
Lavill adding the other. Hull City emerged as penalty shootout winners over
Liverpool Feds following a goalfest which had finished level at 5-5. Durham
Cestria continued their powerful start to the season by winning 11-1 against Chorley,
Anna Wuerfell netting four times and Oumou Donzo contributing a hat-trick, with Beth
Enguita, Zoe Norton, Kenzy Collingbourne and Erin Third also on target. Abbie
Langstaff, Emily Sykes, Sian Gibrill-Keating and Katie Astle all scored for Leeds Utd
as they won 4-3 at Lincoln City and Wolverhampton Wanderers defeated
Newcastle Utd 3-1 thanks to Amy Hare, Daisy Wickett and Grace Gregory.
Middlesbrough beat Doncaster Rovers Belles 2-1 and Long Eaton Utd were 2-1
victors at Bradford City, courtesy of a double from Sommer Smith.
Maia Clark scored a hat-trick, with Una Lue adding the other, as West
Bromwich Albion ran out 4-1 winners over Derby County. Evie Quinn scored the
only goal of the game for Nottingham Forest in their 1-0 success against
Loughborough Lightning. Stoke City edged out Sporting Khalsa by the odd
goal in five, courtesy of a goal apiece from Abigail Adams, Chung Man Karri Chan and
Imogen Fahy, whilst Emily Flegg and Charley Sanford scored the goals as
Southampton Women came from behind to beat Stourbridge 2-1.
Milton Keynes Dons carried their good league form into the Cup, at the
expense of Exeter City. Gabriella Maia, Freya Stichbury and India Stanier-Martin all
hit hat-tricks, Cassidy Flynn and Emily Wilson each netted twice, and there was one
apiece from Renai Bennett, Milly Hayes, Annaliese Jacovides and Molly Green. Poppy
Bridgen and Renee Johnson scored for Queen's Park Rangers in their 2-0 victory at
Cambridge Utd and Cambridge City defeated Enfield Town 7-2, Shannon Shaw
netting five times along with Chloe Parncutt and Paige Gardiner. London Seaward
and Stevenage Women both won on penalty shootouts, against AFC Wimbledon
and Portsmouth respectively, whilst Oxford Utd scored six without reply past
Swindon Town.
