The quarter final line up for the FA Women’s Continental League
Cup has been decided following the midweek matches which have
virtually completed the group stages of the competition.
Manchester City have been confirmed as the winners of
Group B following their 1-0 victory against Leicester City. The
Cityzens went into the game needing to avoid defeat in order to take
top spot and things remained in the balance until the 90th minute
of the game, when Filippa Angeldahl scored the only goal of the
       game.
Manchester City therefore finish on top of
       the Group B and there was also good news for GROUP A P W D L F A Pts
       Liverpool as they also go through to the ASTON VILLA 4 2 2 0 5 3 9
       quarter finals, as the best placed runners-up. MANCHESTER UTD 4 2 2 0 11 5 8
           Group D also went down to the last match DURHAM WOMEN 4 1 2 1 6 6 7

           The match turned out to be a tight as LEICESTER CITY 4 2 0 2 8 5 6
expected and it was City who took the lead just SUNDERLAND 3 0 0 3 0 9 0

       Ham Utd and the Seagulls went into the SOUTHAMPTON 3 0 0 3 0 6 0
match needing a victory in order to pip the
       Hammers to top spot.
In the end, it turned out to be a close and even encounter, but neither team could make the
breakthrough on the night. The game ended goalless with Brighton winning the resulting penalty
shootout 3-0 to take the extra point, but the goalless draw was what the Hammers required to be
assured as the winners of the group.
The draw for the quarter finals was made just before Christmas and the ties are scheduled to
be played on 25-26 January. The five group winners went into the draw along with Liverpool, the
best runners-up, plus Chelsea and Arsenal who enter the competition at this stage.
The semi finals will be played on 8-9 February, with the Final at Selhurst Park taking place
live on the BBC on Sunday 5th March at 3pm.
The quarter final line up is therefore as follows:
                                   Arsenal v Aston Villa
                                Bristol City v Manchester City
                                 Liverpool v West Ham Utd
                                Tottenham Hotspur v Chelsea
Bristol City have announced that their quarter final tie with Manchester City next Wednesday
has been switched to Ashton Gate.
