Northern Premier Division
There could hardly have been two contrasting Sundays
for Fylde Women, just a week after winning against
title holders Wolverhampton Wanderers. The
Coasters took on Nottingham Forest and this time were on the receiving end of a 12-1 defeat,
a result that takes Forest to the top of the table, above Wolves on goal difference. Yasmin Mosby
led the scoring for Forest with a hat-trick whilst Rebecca Anderson, Amy West and Charlotte
Steggles all netted twice, the latter scoring both from the penalty spot. Sophie Domingo and
Gianna Mitchell were also on target with an own goal completing the tally, whilst Fylde's
consolation came from Emily Hollinshead.
Derby County are up to fourth place following their 2-1 success away to
Loughborough Lightning. Second half goals from Amy Sims and Emily Joyce earned the
Ewes their fifth league win of the season, before Loughborough replied with a late own goal.
Southern Premier Division
In the only match in the league to be played on Sunday, Portsmouth moved back into second
place with a 1-0 victory against Ipswich Town. The two teams started the game level on points
but it was Pompey who took the victory on the day, thanks to a solitary goal from Anaisa Harney
scored just before half time.
Division One North
Hull City continued their improving form and made it three victories in four matches in all
competitions when they won 2-0 away to Chorley. The home side had also gone into the game
having experienced an upturn in fortunes but goals from Ellie Tanser and Katie Thompson
secured a result which lifts Hull into the top half of the table.
Division One Midlands
Solihull Moors have gone back up to fourth in the table on the back of a 3-0 success at Long
Eaton Utd. Incredibly, Moors were playing their first league match for over three months but
made up for lost time as Rebecca Knight netted twice and Tiana Cartwright added the other.
Division One South West
Cardiff City Ladies' nine-match winning run was brought to a crashing halt when they were
beaten 4-0 by Moneyfields, a result which opens up the title race. Kim Whitcombe, Gemma
Simmonds and Charley Wilson-Wilton fired the Moneys into a three-goal lead at half time and
Jade Widdows rounded off the win for her side, which takes them into the top four, by scoring
the final goal from a free kick.
Swindon Town meanwhile kept themselves in the running but needed to come from
behind to win a thrilling match 4-3 against AFC St Austell. The Cornish side led at half time
after Annabelle Colston have given Swindon a third minute lead but goals in the last fifteen
minutes from Megan Attenborough (2) and Lucy Durham tipped the match the Wiltshire side's
way. Lucy Solloway netted twice and Jasmine Allen the other in reply for St Austell.
Reserve Section round-up
Durham Cestria have gone four points clear at the top of the Northern Division following
their 4-1 victory away to Liverpool Feds. Victoria Neuefeind was on target twice for the
Wildcats along with Devyn Wilson and Scarlett McAvoy. Louise Biggins and Delia Hurdiss
scored the goals as Barnsley climbed into third after beating Huddersfield Town 2-0 and
Stockport County were also 2-0 winners over Chorley thanks to second half goals from Ellie
Richardson and Georgia Johnson.
In the Midland Division, West Bromwich Albion defeated Sporting Khalsa 3-0 to
go second and Wolverhampton Wanderers also narrowed the gap on the leaders after a
Millie Webb hat-trick and Amy Hare double took them to a 5-1 victory away to Long Eaton
