Southern Region League
One match was played in the Premier Division on Sunday, Abingdon Town lifting themselves up
into third place with a 4-0 victory over Wycombe Wanderers. Chloe Ball netted a goal in each
half and she was joined on the scoresheet by Tayla Wilkins and Cara Kerby.
Two of the main contenders in Division One met each other and both remain unbeaten after
AFC Bournemouth Development and AFC Stoneham battled out a 2-2 draw. Bournemouth
took a two-goal lead with goals either side of half time through Lucy Cooper and Hannah Hughes,
with Stoneham battling back to earn themselves a share of the spoils thanks to Alisha Buckingham
and Madison Payne. Bournemouth Sports - the other unbeaten team in the division - lifted
themselves into second place by winning 5-1 at Southampton Women Res with a goal apiece
from Rosie Eden, Stacey Lewis, Justine Mosley, Sophie Parsons and Rebecca Yeo.
       West Midlands League
Lye Town kept themselves in touch with the leading sides in the Premier Division with a 3-1
victory at Coundon Court in the only match to be played. Chelsea Tague scored twice and Sian
Johnson added the other for Lye, with Hannah Roxburgh replying.
The top of the table clash in Division One North was the only game to go ahead and it
remains as you are after Shifnal Town and Shrewsbury Town finished level at 2-2. Maria Bell
and Rebecca-Lee Bown scored the goals for Shifnal, who remain one point in front at the top, whilst
the Shrews' strikes came from Madison Jones and Shannon McShane.
Rugby Town picked up three important points from the solitary match in Division One
South, thanks to a 6-3 win against Westfields Women. Chloe Debaes led the scoring for Rugby
with a four-goal haul and the others came from Hannah Morris and Laura Coles, whilst Westfields
scored through Evie Jones (2) and Amy Riggs.
       Sheffield & Hallamshire County Cup

Not surprisingly there were some high scores in those games which featured tier 5 teams against
those from tier 7. Rotherham Utd, one of two former winners of the trophy in this round, were
the round’s highest scorers as they ran out 19-0 home over Mosborough. Helen Lynskey netted
eleven, while Amy Pollock bagged a hat-trick. The other five goals came from Grace Wardle (2),
Rachel Hale, Harriet Houghton and Dina Sarayreh. The other former winner, Sheffield
Wednesday, had suffered a 14-0 defeat in their league game a week earlier, but against County
League outfit Hepworth Utd, whose cause was not helped by having only ten players, it was
Wednesday whose fortunes underwent a contrasting change as they won 14-1. Amy Broomhead,
with six and Shannon Coughlan (5) shared the bulk of Wednesday’s goals with singles from Lauren
Bullock, Channy Rymer and Demi West.
Also scoring 14 were Wakefield Trinity, whose name change to Wakefield AFC has yet to
be reflected in league tables. They won 14-2 at Hepworth Utd Development; Neve Renwick
netted six, while the other eight goals were spread around six players with braces for both Jenna
Bramley and Emily Heckler and singles from Jodie Clarkson, Charlotte Cook, Chelsea Pilmer and
Rachel Stuart. Barnsley Ladies netted a baker’s dozen without reply at home to Millstone.
Chloe Freeman bagged a hat-trick, with doubles for Lauren Collumbine, Sadie Hooper, Amy Lassu
and Amy Lyons. There was a goal apiece from Brooke Betts and Marcie Heckingbottom. Sheffield
Wednesday Res won 8-0 at Eckington Belles, Chelsea Wall bagging a hat-trick with singles
from Megan Hammond, Elle Kaye, Caitlin Siddall, Brooke Swan and Maddie Wilson. Sheffield
Wednesday Development went out after a penalty shootout away to Rotherham Utd
Whitehill. Eva Butler’s brace put the hosts 2-0 up at the interval, but Wednesday battled back to
force extra time with goals from Millie Bethel and Hannah Jackson, before Rotherham went
through 5-3 on penalties. Staveley Miners Welfare proved too strong for Bolsover Town,
finishing 6-0 winners. Also winning 6-0 were Penistone Church away to Kiveton Park
Development, Jessica Barrow with a hat-trick, plus singles for Kirsty Downing, Emily Gleadhall
and Keepey Green. Dronfield Town were beaten just 2-0 at Oughtibridge who play two tiers
higher, Laura Cain and Emily Fowler on target for the hosts. Sam Hallam and Becky Walstow
netted for Handsworth in their 2-0 victory over Socrates, whilst Gemma Harte bagged a
hat-trick as AFC Bentley won 5-0 at Wickersley Youth.
Kiveton Park went ahead through Megan Croft at home to Barnsley (Women)
Development who hit back to progress 4-1 with strikes from Molly Crossland, Krizia Firth,
Connie Hibbert and Harriet Lloyd. Sheffield Utd Community Foundation won 6-0 at
