The top of the table clash in SWPL 1 ended with honours even as Glasgow City and Rangers
finished level at 1-1. The first half was goalless but seven minutes after the restart, City took the
lead through a Lauren Davidson penalty. Rangers replied with a penalty of their own from Tessel
Middag but late Rangers pressure could not bring a winner and they continue to head the table
on goal difference, with both teams remaining unbeaten.
The result was a great one though for Celtic as they narrowed the gap on the top two to a
single point with a 3-0 victory over Hearts. Amy Gallacher gave Celtic a sixteenth minute lead
and Olivia Fergusson headed in the second just before half time. Gallacher rounded off the
scoring for her side with her second goal, six minutes from time.
Partick Thistle continue do well and ran out 5-1 winners away to Hamilton
Academical. A huge bearing on the result was the sending off of Accies goalkeeper Chloe
Nicolson for handling outside the area after five minutes and Partick took full advantage, Linzi
Taylor and Rachel Donaldson putting them two ahead at half time. Abbie Ferguson made if three
before Taylor netted her second and Jordan McLintock scored a penalty, before Megan Quinn
replied from the penalty spot for the home side late on.
Hibernian meanwhile scored six times without reply past Glasgow Women to
consolidate their position in the top half. Rosie Livingstone broke the deadlock with a fine strike
and Eilidh Adams made it two before the break. An own goal from Shannon Leishman made it
three on the hour and Adams duly netted her second, before Krystyna Freda rounded off the
scoring with a brace in the last ten minutes.
Three first half goals powered Motherwell to a 4-1 victory over Aberdeen, which
stretches the gap between the two teams to seven points. Gill Inglis, Katie Rice and Kaela
McDonald-Nguah put the Women of Steel in control at the interval and after Bailley Collins
pulled one back for Aberdeen, McDonald-Nguah squashed any hopes of a comeback a minute
       later with her second goal.
