The highest score of the round came from Socrates who beat Adwick Warriors 17-0 for the
record score in their history (dating back to late last century). However, while some teams conceded
ties, full credit belongs to Adwick who are recently formed and were making their competitive 11 v
11 debut - they are currently on a stepping stone to full sided games as they play in a 9 v 9
recreational league. It was just 4-0 at the interval, while Socrates scored in quick bursts in the second
half including four goals in the last 10 minutes. Amber Wilson was top individual scored with four
and there were hat-tricks for both Sally Lowe and Sophie Shemeld. Claire Attrill, Vale Basso, Rachel
Fletcher and Katie Marshall who scored the game’s final goal were the other Socrates players on
target, the other goals were own goals. (Julian Barker)
