Heather and Claire Johnson also on target. Eastbourne Utd are also three points off the
pace as goals from Beth Chambers (2) and Rebecca Relf gave them a 3-0 victory over
Montpelier Villa. Welling Utd defeated Herne Bay 4-0 thanks to an Olivia McGregor
double, Sarah White and Natalie Crinean, whilst Bexhill Utd won for the first time, 3-1
against Steyning Town Community with Christy Haragan (2) and Catherine Hyland on
the scoresheet.
North East League
Wallsend Boys Club made sure of a quick return to the top of the league as they won 3-2
away to Blyth Town. Jessica Ellison led the scoring for the leaders as she bagged a
hat-trick, whilst Blyth replied via an own goal and Beth Hayward. Chester-le-Street
Town had gone top less than 24 hours earlier when they defeated Harrogate Town 9-0,
Nichole Harvey scoring five times along with Isla Maggs, Charlotte Proud, Amy Wharton
and Rachel Mellor. Neve Renwick scored twice, along with an own goal, as Wakefield
shared a 3-3 draw with Redcar Town whose markswomen were Jess Round, Heather
Power and Mary Corbyn.
Northern Division leaders Norton & Stockton Ancients Res went down to their
first defeat of the season, beaten 3-1 by Hartlepool Utd. Atalia Robinson netted twice and
Zara Johnson the other for Hartlepool, who have moved up to third place, whilst Norton's
consolation came from Maddie Myers. Millie McKenna and Rachel Hepple were on target
for Wallsend BC Res as they battled out a 2-2 draw with Thornaby Ladies, whose
scorers were Leonie Hutchinson and Sophie Curle.
Ossett Utd lifted themselves into the top four in the Southern Division when they
scored eleven without reply against Ripon City. Debbie Hastings had an incredible day in
front of goal as she found the net eight times, whilst the others came from Emily Burgin,
Danielle Sidebottom and Anais Wilby. Sheffield Wednesday meanwhile claimed their
first win of the season in some style, beating Bradford Park Avenue 8-2. Amazingly,
Bradford had led at half time through goals from Jade Nelson and Melissa West, before
Wednesday hit back with a five-goal haul from Molly Wilde, an Amy Broomhead double
and Sophie Jackson-Sharp.
North West League
Blackburn Community SC climbed up to top four in the Premier Division after running
out 6-0 winners over Wigan Athletic. Tranmere Rovers would have gone top of the
table with a win but instead they suffered their first defeat of the season, beaten 3-2 by
Fleetwood Town Wrens. Mossley Hill meanwhile picked up their second point when
sharing a 2-2 draw with West Didsbury & Chorlton, whose scorers were Taylor Gunn
and Bianca Blochl.
In Division One South, Poulton Vics closed the gap on leaders Bury AFC Women
to a single point when they defeated Warrington Wolves Foundation 7-4 in a high
scoring thriller. Elsewhere, BRNESC Ladies were 3-2 winners away to Alder FC
Women.
South West League
Just a single point now covers the top five in the Premier Division, now headed by Bristol
Rovers on goals scored following their 5-1 victory away to Liskeard Athletic. Abi Todd
led the scoring for Rovers with a four-goal haul and Katie Rawlings was also on target.
Previous leaders Sherborne Town are now in second and Forest Green Rovers
complete a trio of teams level on points after they defeated Poole Town 3-2. Charlie
Rowlands, Hattie Jones and Poppy Mortimer all scored for Forest Green, with Madison
