dirty. We see a lot of people with bad teeth in Ireland and a lot
of people wearing old shabby or dirty clothes. It seems very
different than the U.S. where you see some of that but not so
much where I live.
No sweater for M so after
checking out some china
shops and buying only a
plastic “Madonna” water
bottle with a screw off
crown for £.75 we run back
to our car in the pouring
rain.
I have an umbrella but the
sidewalk is so narrow that
it is hard to use it. The cars
seem to be going slow and
it appears that the drivers
are trying not to splash us
which is nice. We took
some photos of a street
cleaner who doesn’t look happy about it.
We decide to give up and go back to our B & B. The front door
is locked so we go to the store door and ring the bell. Teresa
comes and lets us in. I buy a can of Diet Club Orange and leave
my umbrella to dry. It is a cute little store with a meat counter,
shelves of canned good and shelves full of boxes and even
newspapers and fresh produce. We sit in the lounge and
Teresa puts on some music and we chuckle as it goes from
lovely relaxing strains to what sounds like an Irish jig. M
