P. 136
To form parts of the boat, trees were pruned and forced to grow
into various shapes many years before being cut. This saved
hand work which was kept to a minimum. The Ring Fort has a
stone age lathe. I thought that might be interesting to my
husband since he
was a machinist in
his early career.
We finish up our
tour at the tea house
and drink tea and
munch on scones
and fruit cake which
was baked on the
premises in stone
ovens. We are
forced outside by
the thick smoke
from the peat fire
in the teahouse.
We are glad
because it is nicer
outside at a picnic
table.
Some happy girls
on tour are
posing for a
picture and they
are so cute I have
to take one too.
