In the decades since, the National Wildlife Federation has worked in partnership with its
affiliates and other organizations to protect and conserve America’s rich natural heritage.
Efforts have saved wetlands, created wilderness areas, and protected wildlife whose habitats
are disappearing in all parts of the nation. The National Wildlife Federation has also
influenced dozens of legislative victories impacting wildlife and the environment, included the
Endangered Species Act, the Clean Water and Clean Air acts, the Farm Bill, and many more.
We have a long history of providing award-winning, environmental education and programs
and resources to American schools, while our Garden for Wildlife outreach engages property
owners and communities of all types to become wildlife sanctuaries. Through these
programs, signature publications National Wildlife Magazine and Ranger Rick, and active
social media networks, we engage with millions of Americans to advocate on behalf of and
connect with nature.
What began as a cartoonists dream is now the largest grassroots conservation organization in
the country.
