Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice
The National Wildlife Federation believes that as our nation’s demographics continue to
rapidly change, NWF must also rapidly change into a truly multi-cultural organization that
represents all Americans from all walks of life that care about leaving a legacy of clean air,
clean water, healthy wildlife and wild lands for their children and c children’s children. Such a
transformation requires enhanced cultural competency, focus on recruiting and promoting
multi-cultural staff, and engaging a diverse array of partners.
Clean air, clean water, and abundant wildlife sustain Americans from all walks of life. We share
a responsibility to protect these public assets for our children’s future. Just as a diversity of
animals and plants are essential to a healthy ecosystem, NWF derives its strength and
relevance from bringing together diverse people to create healthy communities for all.
We aspire to be an inclusive multi-cultural organization that celebrates the rich dimensions of
diversity such as race, ethnicity, gender, identity, sexual orientation, socio-economic status,
age, physical abilities, religious and political beliefs. Essentially, diversity creates an awareness
of and acknowledges respect for differences. Diversity at the National Wildlife Federation
translates into understanding each other’s perspective.
