Introduction
Dear Friends
Welcome to our Lockdown cookbook. During the period
of enforced isolation many of us ‘took to cooking’ and it
seemed a good idea to share a few of our favourite
recipes.
Some of the recipes tell a little about their history and
what they mean to the contributor. Whether there is a
story or not as you follow the recipe you will find yourself
thinking of the person who submitted it; what a lovely
way to strengthen friendships. Perhaps we should have
called it the Friendship Recipe Book.
To all who contributed a recipe thank you so much; if
you have bought this book a really big thank you to you;
and finally Jim and Ann thank you for your help,
unfailing support and for the printing of our book.
Without you it wouldn't have happened.
Halsway Grace
Be known to us in breaking bread
But do not then depart,
Saviour abide with us and spread
Thy table in our heart
Thy table in our heart.
James Montgomery (1771-1854), Music - Mike Bailey
This beautiful grace was sung by the Purbeck Village Quire
at John Pullen's Thanksgiving
