Swanage Food Bank ~ Latest News

The Food Bank move at the beginning of April went really smoothly
and it didn’t rain! Everything had been packed into crates and
containers beforehand, so the loading onto the Besom van was
straightforward, thanks to Besom and Food Bank helpers.

I was on Food bank duty last week for the first full week of
operating from the URC.

We felt very settled by the end of the week in the new surroundings
and everything is now in place. All the goods are easily
accessible, it’s a light and airy room so it’s very pleasant to work in.
We are very thankful that the Food Bank now has a lovely base.

With the clear signage, home deliverers, those collecting food and
others bringing donations of food all found the straightforward
pathway down the side passage to ring the bell outside the fire
door.

Robin has built a ramp enabling the trolleys and Morrisons delivery
to have easy access to and from the building.

Shortages on the
shelves at the
moment:
teabags,
jars of instant coffee,
bags of sugar,
small bags of short
grain rice,
tins of soup,
marmalade
