A few new faces have recently joined both CU’s and we hope and pray that they will
continue to stay!
Mentoring | 1:1 Support at Schools
Hannah and Richard are both regularly meeting with young people on a weekly basis to
provide them with 1:1 support. Please pray for them as they guide young people through
challenging personal circumstances.
*NEW Initiatives*
Berno has got the blessing from the football club to run a youth club for 14–18-year-olds
at the football club on a Sunday afternoon from 3-5 pm. The council has also provided
funding to purchase equipment that totals up to almost £3000. All that is needed now are
the hands and feet to serve the young people. If you know of anyone who is willing to
help, whether it is helping to run a tuck shop, chatting with the young people, or
overseeing games and activities, please get in touch with Berno on 07341 300594. If we
can get 15 people to help out, then there will be plenty of time for play and rest! This is
an unmissable opportunity to show the young people, who are not part of a church
community, what the body of Christ is like.
Hannah is also looking to start a club for those in year 5-8 (9 to 12 years old) and need
people to help interact, serve in the kitchen and help with activities. Get in touch with
Hannah at hannah@waveministry.org.uk.
Prayer Points Summary
Pray for the relationships being invested in through the clubs, mentoring and
involvement in other community initiatives for young people, that the richness of
Christ in our lives can shine brightly to those we invest in.
Pray for the discussions taking place at Rooted and CU, which are attended by
mostly non-Christian young people. Pray that it would leave a deep impression on the
young people and lead them to pursue Christ for themselves.
Pray for Richard and Hannah as they mentor the young people, that God would give
them wisdom and guide their conversations with the young people and supporting
staff. Their position as mentor is very influential and exemplary. Pray that their
impression on the young people reflects that of Christ.
Thank God for the opportunities we have to develop new clubs and pray that God
would help us develop these further.
Pray for the local Church, to recognise and seize the opportunities God presents to
us where we can be the hands and feet of Christ in our community. Pray that God
direct our steps to help shape the lives of our local children and young people, so that
the future generations can experience what it is like to be surrounded by a group of
witnesses to the hope that is found in Christ.
