NSW TAXI LICENCE
BUYBACK
PETITION
NEW
SOUTH DEBATED IN
WALES
NEWS PARLIAMENT OF NSW
The NSW Taxi Council initiated the petition for
buyback of NSW Taxi Licences and received
14,324 signatures from stakeholders of the NSW
Taxi Industry. This petition was submitted to the
Parliament and was debated on 26th September
2019 in the NSW Parliament.
The Parliament debate on the petition was a
positive for NSW Taxi Industry and NSW Taxi
Council. It was unanimously accepted by all
members present in the Parliament, highlighting

licence owners

acknowledge all its members in NSW who

debate in Parliament. The debate was very
lively, and we are grateful to our members

We would also like to thank all the NSW MPs who
attended the debate for not only listening, but
also for becoming actively involved in supporting
our cause.
It was extremely positive to see the large number
of members of Parliament, from all sides, being
present for the debate, representing the interests
of their local constituents across the State.
Whilst it is understood that there is a process
for the debate, it was disappointing that not all
members who wanted to speak on the topic,
were able to in the allotted time. The public
gallery, as mentioned, was overflowing with Taxi
