At the height of the pandemic, the lockdown restrictions had to
be enforced and these restrictions came with a lot of hardship
particularly in the area of foodstuff and getting delivery of goods.
Prices of foodstuff also took a hit and the country suffered an
economic downturn.

At Waltersmith, given our long standing relationship with our
communities, we partnered with Seplat Petroleum Development
Company to organize foodstuffs and other palliatives for the Imo-
State Government. We also organized additional palliatives and
relief materials as well for all our six host communities and
ensured delivery to all the (Ezes) community leaders despite the
restrictions on movement.

Ours has been a story of partnership and a relationship built by
“holding hands” with our communities and stakeholders in the
quest for economic empowerment and infrastructure support.
Our communities represent a major anchor in all the we do and
we remain committed to a constructive partnership that is
inclusive and responsive.
