2. I made good relations with my guide/mentors and took their suggestions seriously; to make
improvements in my approach
3. I did many field visits and did not restrict myself to the head office. This led me to get the different
perspective about the problems faced at plant and find the real-world solutions.
4. I tried to do my best and did not take a single holiday for two months

Wrong:

I wasted initial few days after getting the project details via mail from the ITC. I should have utilized those
days before start of the internship for research about the topic and should have contacted the seniors and
peer batch students regarding the help.

❖ what are the things to keep in mind in the internship?

1. You should NOT ONLY think about the PPO at the time of working. Source of inspiration should be to do
your best and to take maximum efforts which would justify your selection.

2. Getting a PPO depend on many factors beyond your efficiency or performance at work; things like
Behaviour with colleagues, active participation in discussions, social skills, corporate ethics and proactive
approach towards finding real world solutions.
3. Don’t take even a single day off for 2 months (unless you get sick or something), try to remain healthy.
Show the sincere efforts and make them feel you can be become a valuable part of the organization.

4. Think positively and do not back down because of initial failures towards finding solutions. Keep in mind
that real world problems are solved by iteration method; there is no perfect answer to any problem.

5. Do not indulge in blame game while working and solving the problems. Be polite with everyone and be
grateful for the opportunity.

❖ What pre-internship preparation do you suggest for juniors?

Get well versed with following skills/software’s:
1. For Data Analysis: Advanced Excel, Excel VBA Coding
2. For Data Visualization, Dashboard making: Tableau
3. For Statistical Analysis: SPSS

Most importantly spend some money for shopping, look neat and well-groomed throughout your internship
stint.
