❖ A brief overview of the project

I Interned in ITC in its Educational & Stationary Products
business segment. I got an opportunity to be a part of two live
projects during my internship.

Project 1:

Optimization of Finished Goods Warehouse Layout
Objective:

• Improve the Storage Capacity of WMS implemented
Warehouse, by Optimizing the Bin Size
• Design the Warehouse Layout, to increase the

throughput and model it in AutoCAD.
SIYAK KB • Define a SAP WMS Structure for the proposed layout

• Perform the AS– IS analysis of existing Warehouse
ITC Operation, to improve the Work procedure.

Project 2:
GENERAL INFORMATION
Cost Reduction of Secondary Transportation (WSP – WDs)
Batch: PGDIE 48 Objective:

BTech: NIT, Calicut • Study the Transportation model, Cost structure and
Constraints of the K3 Transportation.
Stream: Mechanical • Design a robust, Excel based model to Optimize the
Transportation through efficient Clustering.
Work Ex: Maruti Suzuki • Conduct trial run and Customize the model as per the
User requirement

• Analyze the Consignment history to derive the potential

cost saving scope of the Model

❖ How is a normal day at the Internship?

During initial days, a typical day of my internship was mostly networking with the Stakeholders of my

project to continuously monitor its progress and to ensure not to deviate from the right track.

Also, scheduling of all the work that I have to perform on that day based on criticality and importance,

preparation of one pager of all the work that I have done on that particular day, planning all the activities

that I have to perform the next day.

❖ What are the challenges faced during Internship?

Challenges:
• To identify and give priority to critical activities from the to do list.

• Taking approval from stakeholders to proceed.

• Timely availability of data to work on the project.
• Managing work force and supervisors who does not welcome new ideas.
