❖ A brief overview of the project
The title of the project was 12 Month Calendar: New ways of
working in sourcing. Apparel Industry is a highly dynamic
industry. The products have shelf life of just a few weeks, and
consequently they become obsolete very early. To cope up
with this problem, the senior management at ABFRL came up
with an idea of implementing a monthly cycle for sourcing for
all the brands instead of the currently followed quarterly
                                                       cycle.

The company planned to adopt a 12-month cycle, wherein
the supply chain would be more responsive by delivering

❖ How is a normal day at the Internship?

The location of my internship was Bangalore. And, you know the state of Bangalore traffic, so we all co-interns

left for office at around 8 am On reaching office, I used to meet my mentor for the daily briefings.

In the evenings, before leaving the office, I would make him aware with the progress made during the day and,
plan for next day. The usual time for leaving would be around 6. Getting a cab and covering 4kms in one hour

       was tougher than my project.

❖ What are the challenges faced during Internship?

       • Understanding the existing process took time as the supply chain was very complex, with large number of
          interdependent SKUs.
       • Secondly, the objective of our project was not fixed at the beginning and kept on changing in the first few
weeks. It was finalised only after mid review.
       • Thirdly it was very difficult to schedule meetings with the employees on account of their busy schedules.
My projects necessitated me to interact with team leaders and heads across cross functional teams, so had
to adjust my schedule as per their timeline.
