Today my legal name is Omnahr Sha Kari.

I gave myself this name because I hated the sound of my
first name; “Lawrence.”

I do not look or feel like a British guy named Lawrence.

My soul is not a part of the Lawrence culture.

I am not English, so I don’t give a dam about promoting
the English language or culture.

I needed to control the narrative of who and what I am.

African cultures are as alien to me as European or

Asian cultures because I was not born on the so-called
African continent.

However, I do love exotic-sounding African, Arabic,

and Japanese male names.

So I chose a name I heard during a family event many

years ago.

The stories in this book are inspired by real-life events

as I can remember them.

Some of the names are changed to protect the guilty and
those who do not wish to be remembered.

I will continue using the Nigger word in many
different forms.
