Only focus on the two sections highlighted abov e. The poi nt of this exercise is to identify
the NOC that most closely matches your occupation. The Canadian government will
examine the duties of your job against the two section s highlighted.
Don’t base your NOC code search on job titles. When checking a NOC, foc us on job
duties and try to find the NOC that is mos t comparable to the wor k you are currently
doing or have done in the past.
What do I do if my NOC code is skill level C or D?
As mentioned earlier, only occupation s that are A, 0, or B are considered for Express Entry.
However, there may be other option s available to you if you r oc cupation is level C or D:
1. Come to Canada as a (all skill types/levels)provincial nominee
2. Come to Canada through (skill type/level 0, A, B, or C), orAtlantic Immigration Pilot
3. You may be able to work in Canada for up to two years
STEP 2: Take an approved lan guag e test
All candidates in the Express Entry pool are required to ob tain the results of an approv ed
language test.
There Canadian government accepts two tests for prov ing English ability, and two tests
for proving French language ability:
English
IELTS: International English Language Testing System
Only the General Training module will be accepted
The academic version is not accepted for Express Entry
