Chapter 1: Intro to Express Entry
In addition to the three programs abov e, Canadian prov inces and territor ies are also
able to select individuals from the Express Entry pool throu gh the Prov incial Nom inee
Program (PNP) to meet Canada’s labou r market needs.
To enter the Express Entry pool, you have to meet the eligibility criteria of one of the
Canadian immigration programs listed abov e.
If you are selected through Express Entry, you will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA),
which will allow you to submit an application for Canadian permanent residence.
The Express Entry Process
Before we jump into creating an Express Entry prof ile, it is impor tant for you to
understand how the Express Entry proc ess wor ks.
The Express Entry process can be brok en down into two main steps:
1. You create an Express Entry profile and enter the Express Entry pool
2. Once your profile has been created, you will be placed in the Express Entry pool
and ranked against other Express Entry candidates using the Com prehensive
Ranking System (CRS). If you are on e of the highest ranked candidates when a
draw/invitation round happens, you will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for
Canadian permanent residence
