Education on the Protocol of Dealing with Students

               Suffering from Diabetes

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease in which blood glucose levels are continuously
elevated. The cause of high glucose values is a lack of the hormone insulin or insensitivity of
peripheral tissues to normal levels of this hormone. The pancreas produces insulin, a hormone
that regulates blood sugar levels by allowing sugar to enter cells where it is converted into
energy for life-important processes in the body. There are two types of diabetes mellitus. Type
1, which occurs in children and young people and is insulin dependent and type 2, more
common in the elderly and obese. Complications of diabetes are hypoglycemia and
hyperglycemia that need to be prevented and kept the disease under control.
The basic condition for quality education of students with diabetes is their inclusion in the
educational process, and the basic prerequisite is teamwork, and the team consists of parents,
students with diabetes, principal, professional service, teacher and his indispensable
               schoolmates.
The basic right of every child is the right to health, the right to health care, to quality of life, the
right to a safe and quality education. The aim of this poster is to bring closer the problems of
students with diabetes in schools, to show the protocol of treatment, all in order to create
