• Chico BPW We have been back to meeting in person the last few months. We have grown in
membership by two dual members, and gained a member from Ventura County that most of you may
know. Connie Stahl, now living up here with her daughter and family. Plus about six women have writ-
ten this president inquiring about BPW and we have added them to our e-mailing list for meetings and
programs.

We have had a couple of program planning meetings with chair Connie Stahl. She has one very
interesting program planned in November for us: “Women Through History Dinner Party”. We are to
invite women, historically and contemporarily to a hypothetical Thanksgiving Dinner to discuss the ERA
and other women’s issues.

• East Los Angeles-Montebello BPW held its annual Patio Party fundraiser on Saturday, August
26th at Marjory’s in Whittier, California. August 26th is known as Women’s Equality Day in recognition
of the 19th Amendment where women won the right to vote. It is also the anniversary of the founding
of BPW-International in 1930.

• East Los Angeles-Montebello BPW met Tuesday, September 26th at 4:30 P.M.
networking and 5:00 P.M. dinner and program.
Program: NFBPWC Period Poverty Committee member Sally McMahon spoke on
“Period Poverty.” Attendees were asked to bring period products to donate to local
non-profits helping unhoused. She also spoke on the results of State legislation that
CFBPW supported.
