                                   •      Berkeley club young BPW member, Ellora Easton
                                   graduated from UCLA.
                                   She was recipient of California Education Fund loan.
                                   Ellora is fourth generation BPW member. Great granddaughter
                                   of late Shakuntala Malhoutra, granddaughter of Manjul Batra,
                                   and daughter of Sujata Batra Easton, all of whom have been
                                   and     continue to be  BPW members.
                                   Ellora’s major was International Developmental Studies and
                                   double  minored in Entrepreneurship and Global Health.
          Congratulations Ellora!

          The Berkely Club also welcomed two new members:

          Dr. Joanne Jensen-Hawkins DDS.— Dr. Jensen-Hawkins is an endodontist, a dental
          specialist highly-skilled in diagnosing and treating tooth pain and performing root
          canals. and
          Elisabeth Carrio -  Elisabeth was an independent CPA and legal auditor for 20 years.
          She then became consultant in financial management, business process analysis/
          reform or change management, working for public sector organizations, NGOs or
          local governments all around the world. In parallel, she also graduated in transper-
          sonal psychology and hypnotherapy and became coach.
          She is the author of several books in this area.

                        The clubs throughout California
             have been actively planning their upcoming pro-
                                         grams:

          •      The Sierra Mar District joined hands to support
          National Young BPW initiative of Period Poverty. The dis-
          trict has also decided to have Family Promise of the San
          Gabriel Valley as a project.


                                             •      Burbank club held their June meeting at the
                                             Brand Art Center. They toured an art exhibit entitled:
                                             “Don’t Believe Everything You Think”, a collection
                                             of art experiences by 16 female artists.

                                             •      Burbank Club has also been spearheading a drive
                                             to collect feminine hygiene products along with local
                                             Zonta Club to support the National Young BPW initiative
          of Period Poverty. The items collected will be given to two non-profit organiza-
          tions.  Home Again LA which helps homeless children, and their families return to
          sustainable housing.  Eighty-seven percent of their clients are single mothers.  The
          other non-profit is Journey Out, they are an organization that helps those whose
          lives have been destroyed by sex trafficking or commercial sexual exploitation.
