Highlights of Institutional Capacity Building
Two Unit Disaster Response Team (UDRT), consisting of 25 members, both in Patuakhali and Bagrehat
UDRT Unit were reformed with more active volunteers in collaboration with Youth & Volunteer department of
BDRCS. They are responsible to work with BDRCS and collaborate with other actors in responding to
disasters within their respective districts. As a part of capacity building, they were provided with trainings
on basic disaster management, search & rescue, skills to conducting trainings, cash-based training and
TOT on first aid. They were equipped with personal protective gear and other response equipment
They turned their knowledge and skills into expertise
providing training on basic first aid to 600 school Red
Crescent volunteers in all 20 schools within two
project districts.
They proved their dedication in serving emergency situation like Cyclone ‘Fani’,
Cyclone ‘Bulbul’ etc.
