Chapter 4 Ideation
Choosing the Final Idea
4. Deciding on the Final Idea
These potential solutions were presented to
the tutors and advisors to help pin-down one
solution that best answers the problem.
The final idea I selected was based on the ease of implementing
the solution now vs the future as well as its accessibility to a
wider audience of older adults
a. Its non-technology-based interaction points are not DEVELOP
intimidating even amongst the older old.
b. Its visible presence in both the village estates and in town
makes it even more accessible to the wider population of
older adults, hence also efficiently raises awareness on what
older adults can do.
c. It benefits not only the introverts but all older adults from
various walks of life.
d. It raises awareness of the strengths of older adults while
simultaneously involving the younger generation in doing
so.
e. Some interaction touch points such as buddy bench is easy
to implement.
f. It has a gratitude card reward system which encourages a
feedback element of appreciation that hopefully can help
alleviate feelings of loneliness/isolation
