In a heartwarming display of community support, the Uplift Our Local Communi-
ty Committee recently extended a helping hand to Alabama A&M University's
Bulldog Pantry. Dedicated to addressing food insecurity, the committee, led by
POC Soror Arlene Harris, along with Felicia Jones and Karen Turnage, orches-
trated two significant donation drives on January 29th and March 19th. These ef-
forts exemplify the committee's unwavering commitment to tackling a prevalent
issue faced by college students nationwide. The Bulldog Pantry serves as a vital
resource for students, offering essential items to alleviate the burden of food inse-
curity. Recognizing the significance of this initiative, Dr. Cary Grant expressed
his gratitude to Epsilon Gamma Omega for their consistent support. A collaborative effort ensued, with the
Strengthening Our Sisterhood Committee, Gamma Mu, the Empowering Our Families Committee, and in-
dividual sorors rallying behind the cause, contributing to the success of the donation drives. As the commit-
tee continues its mission to uplift the community, they extend an invitation for further support from those
willing to make a difference. Whether through donations or volunteerism, individuals interested in joining
this impactful endeavor are encouraged to reach out to Soror Arlene Harris or the Uplift Our Local Com-
munity Vice Chairman, Karen Turnage. Together, through collective action and compassion, we can create
a brighter, more nourished future for our community and its students.
