The requirements contained in Section D are set forth in the
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Graduate
Membership Experience Manual- Revised August 2024. The
chapter Membership Committee will verify the eligibility
requirements for all Sponsors and Co-Sponsors in
accordance with the most current version of the Graduate
Membership Experience Manual.

Section E. COURTESY AND PROTOCOL

1. Expressions shall be presented to financially active
sorors on the following occasions:
a. Marriages
b. Births
c. Departures
d. Illnesses
i. Soror is hospitalized: If a Soror is admitted into the
st
hospital (not outpatient) for the 1 time in a calendar year,
the chapter will send a floral expression. If she goes into the

hospital a 2 nd or more times in a calendar year, the chapter
will send a card with a small love token, e.g. gift card, book.
ii. Soror has outpatient surgery or is ill and will be
