THE EGO Ivy Informer

OFFICER SPOTLIGHT

Sorors,

I am excited, honored and blessed to greet you as

Anti-Basileus your Anti-Basileus/Program Chairman for the 2015
year. As you are aware, “Launching New

Soror Cheryl R. Davis Dimensions of Service” officially kicked off
January 2015 for all chapters of Alpha Kappa

Alpha Sorority, Incorporated! Sorors of EGO,

you have answered the call to work diligently in

fostering the programs of the Sorority and

participate fully by signing up for the committee of your choice. You did this in record numbers! I am humbled and

very grateful for the support and commitment you have shown toward programs. I can feel great things happening in

programs because of your commitment of “Service to All Mankind!”

A major facet of my January report focused on “Every Soror is expected to commit, participate, and support
programs.” Our Basileus, Soror Wilma Ruffin, has charged us as a chapter to be more visible in the community while
providing “Service to All Mankind.” My pledge as program chairman is to:

 Keep the membership informed of upcoming program events
 Work collaboratively with the Vice Chairman, Lead, and Undergraduate Chapters
 Promote program happenings by working with the Ivy Leaf Reporter, EGO Newsletter committee, technology

committee, as well as local and National social media networks
 Promote stronger partnerships among local businesses, churches, and community organizations
 Promote a continued partnership with our Ivy Center Foundation in seeking monies to support our programs
 Provide a Program Focus Tip in each chapter newsletter in order to keep the membership informed about our

new program Targets

As Anti-Basileus, my goal is to empower each member to move the chapter and sorority’s programs forward with
excitement and enthusiasm. Programming is the heart of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Sorors, I
encourage you to check out our EGO website, the Ivy Leaf, AKA National website and Facebook page for program
highlights on the local and national level.

My first Anti-Basileus program focus will be on sharing about the new signature program ASCEND! As we begin to
unfold our new programs, it is my goal as your Program Chairman, to inform the membership more about each target
area, and how we as a chapter can execute them more efficiently. Finally, as I embark on serving our great sorority for
34 years, with 17 of those years in Epsilon Gamma Omega Chapter, I am excited and READY TO LAUNCH!

Sisterly,
Soror Cheryl R. Davis
