TARGET I: EDUCATIONAL ENRICHMENT

Efforts designed to motivate, engage and assist high school students will allow them
to reach their maximum potential, within the ASCEND Program of Target I:
Educational Enrichment. The program will focus on:

Achievement Epsilon Gamma Omega’s Target I will lead, guide
Self-Awareness and mentor 20 9th - 12th grade students by building
Communication a foundation. Students will receive skills in Test
Engagement Taking, Communication, Interviewing, and
Networking Budgeting. Led by Sorors Venita Clisby-King,
Developmental Skills Jessica Kennedy and Joy Agee, Target I is
preparing for the launch of the ASCEND
Program, scheduled for January 31, 2015. Alpha
Kappa Alpha ASCEND students will have fun
yet, challenged to be their best!

“Think HBCU” is Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority’s National Campaign to support Historically Black
Colleges & Universities. In support of HBCUs, EGO Sorors showed up and showed out during the October
Sorority Meeting dressed in HBCU paraphernalia! Currently, there are 27 HBCUs represented in EGO!

Target I is aware back to school periods may be a difficult time, financially, for families. To help, EGO’s

Target I will donate backpacks filled with school supplies throughout the academic school year. This is
also in support of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority’s national campaign “One Million Backpacks.”
