          Sorors,

I am so excited about Epsilon Gamma Omega’s 1st edition of the EGO Insider! To me, the greatest
impact for this publication is to ensure our Diamond Soror Fannie P. Thompson and any other Sorors who
may be unable to attend meetings, specifically our Pearl and Golden Sorors, can read that EGO is Elevat-
ing, Galvanizing and Orchestrating the power in us through service, scholarship, and sisterhood!

My sincere thanks and gratitude to the Newsletter Committee,
Sorors LaKysha Stanley-Morris, Sherley Lawrence, Mayah Robinson,
Brittannie Chester, Lorraine Lacy and Lauren Blue for their unwaver-
ing and continual commitment to this wonderful endeavor.
                  Fortunately, January and February are in the rear-view mirror;
and we made it! Whew! We made it through an amazing Debutante
Presentation and Ball season, a demanding 91st SERC, and an unre-
lenting season of Ivy Beyond the Wall (IBTW) ceremonies. As we
spring forward, we should take a moment to look back over to how far
we have come, look upward to thank God for guidance, direction, and
protection, look forward to what lies ahead and look inward for self-
awareness and self-improvement that can be enhanced individually
          and collectively.

As we look back, it has been simply astounding to witness the
many events that have ELEVATED EGO in our community. The Pro-
gram and Sisterhood Initiative Committees GALVONIZED Sorors as shown in EGO’s January service
blitz through events we ORCHESTRATED at the Harris Home, 305 8th Street and the Crisis Center; while
some of us ushered at the Emancipation Proclamation event and gave out MLK books to children, and oth-
ers of us participated in the recovering Our Roots” Genealogy Community Service Photo Headstone Pro-
ject— truly commendable. No doubt our program and sisterhood initiatives have utilized and will continue
to accentuate the power in us to elevate, galvanize and orchestrate the AKA theme of Soaring to Greater
          Heights of Service and Sisterhood.

Even in our spare time, EGO secured a major partnership with the Alabama Credit Union, commenced our
CHIPP program, finalized the planning of the Debutante Ball with a significant change from the VBC
North Hall to the East Hall and gave over $22,000 in scholarships, all while participating in continual
