The Greater Huntsville Interdenominational Ministerial Fellowship, Inc.
(GHIMF) celebrated Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday during their
Emancipation Proclamation Program, held on January 15, 2023, at the Lakeside
United Methodist Church. This auspice occasion is hosted annually by the GHIMF,
at one of its local member churches. Each year, a guest speaker challenges and en-
courages the attendees to take on a life of activism through community service. The powerful messages
always leave the Madison County community inspired and looking forward to attend-
                               ing the following year.

Continued exemplification of the AKA Day of Service included Epsilon
Gamma Omega (EGO) serving as hostesses at the momentous event. It also gave the
members of EGO an opportunity to give some of the elementary-aged students a
book honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The AKA Day and the Emancipation
Proclamation Program were both well-received by all in attendance!
