ASCENDing to New Heights with the ASCEND Program (February)
Epsilon Gamma Omega Chapter, held its signature ASCEND High School Youth Program on the campus of
Alabama A & M University on Saturday, February 04, 2017.
The program began with Mr. Gerald Vines with Alabama A&M’s College of Engineering, Technology, &
Physical Sciences. Mr. Vines gave an overview of the field of Engineering and reviewed the positive aspects
of perusing a STEM career. Students from the College of Engineering answered questions and provided
ASCEND students with their personal college experiences.
As part of the ASCEND enrichment experience,
students are exposed to a variety of information
including information regarding world affairs.
Soror Marian Guidry gave an informative
presentation on Globalization and provided an
introduction on the role of the United Nations.
Next, Soror Lynn Sherrod presented students with
an overview as her role as a judge and gave students
an opportunity to answer legal
