MODERN APPROACHES OF INTEGRATED
AUTOMATION OF CASTING PROCESSES
The article presents schemes for the automation of a foundry based on a network solution and
cloud computing. The concept of a virtual production model based on cyber-physical systems
is considered.
Automation of foundry processes is a prerequisite for increasing the labor productivity of
the domestic foundry industry to the world level. Mass optimization of the personnel structure
and the reduction of production costs in the context of the crisis led to a sharp rise in labor
intensity. Multitasking for engineering and technical workers (ETW) generates ill-considered
and sometimes erroneous decisions. One of the options for improving the current situation in
production - the introduction of integrated automation systems that relieve personnel from
routine production control and ensure dynamic planning. Today experts in the field of industrial
automation offer a scheme in the form of a classical "pyramid" of control (Fig. 1).
