Abstract:
This study aims to find out the best lip balm formulation so that it can optimally
protect and maintain lip health from UV rays. This study is an Experimental
Research with the aim of exploring and determining the optimal formula of lip
balm preparations enriched with mango leaves extract and evaluating the
impact of using lip balm that has been formulated with ingredients used
consisting of VCO (Virgin Coconut Oil), mango leaves extract, cocoa butter,
and beeswax. The sample in this study totaled 3 samples with 6 tests. Namely
organoleptic test, pH test, smear test, dispersion test, homogeneity test, and
visual test. The results of the research that formulation B with a concentration
of 8 ml of VCO is the best formulation. Followed by formulation A with a
concentration of 10 ml of VCO, and the last is formulation C with a
concentration of 5 ml of VCO. Based on the questionnaire that has been
distributed, 100% of respondents answered that Manglow lip balm is effective
in moisturizing the lips.
