               The Project Status
As of late Winter 2023 we’re ready for roll out. We’ve gone from a standing start
to a fully functioning product in a little over than a year. This is a remarkable
achievement and a tribute to the people we have around us in u3a who are
willing to give up so much of their time to make this work. There have been
               crack-of-dawn Teams/Zoom calls, late-night Teams/Zoom calls, regular team,
sub-team, and individual meetings via Teams/Zoom, with a lot of teamwork and
               cross-functional teamwork.

               The Work So Far
Every step of product development has been checked, tested, and re-tested
multiple times. The software tool that has been developed for site migration has
been tested, refined, and tested again multiple times. The product has been
tried and tested against mock-up data and in the real world and then tested
again and again. The testers have tested everything from WordPress updates
and u3a SiteWorks product tweaks but also site links on migrated sites. A bug
reporting system has had to be developed as well as a FAQs section and a Help
               Desk.

A team has been reviewing web hosting requirements and market offerings to
get us robust hosting and back-up with disaster recovery capabilities as well as
day-to-day management and updates that keep our sites up and running.

A number of Pioneers were the guinea pigs who went through the migration
process first to test their own site data in a live environment. They also tested
the processes to make sure they will work when we use them for real. The
Migrators have also been trained and have been looking at various data sets to
               be ready for their role.

Videos have been produced, training material and User Guides have been written
and, as before, every part has been scrutinised, modified, and tested within the
Project Team and with real Web Managers.

Various people have been working on the implementation details figuring out
how to manage putting 700+ sites through the training and migration continuum,
what needs to be ready and in place before the process is used for real, and who
               takes responsibility for each item.
We mustn’t forget the communication team who have been champing at the bit
to spread the word but have been prevented from doing so until products and
               processes were in place.

The message to all of us Web Managers is that we have an excellent product and
a support team who will be helping us through this time of transition.
