Concepts of Gutenberg WordPress Blocks
Long before we were near to going live with the u3a SiteWorks migration one of
our technical experts told me that u3a SiteWorks is 5% u3a and 95% WordPress.
Plugins are the u3a part but blocks are WordPress. If you have ever used or seen
PowerPoint in use then you already know the concept of blocks. They are data
holders that already have an inbuilt content style. u3a has chosen to go with
Gutenberg WordPress. Using a block-based approach, Gutenberg includes every
element you typically need to create a web page, such as paragraphs, headings,
lists, buttons, images, bullets, tables, and columns. It also provides a better visual
representation of the page, making it more like a page builder than the previous
WordPress editors.
