location. Improving the location could make students use these facilities more easily

4.1.3 Organizing student ambassadors in school
Conserving heritages, including natural, cultural and military heritage is also one of a
very important element in sustainable development of city. Due to excessive municipal
solid waste would lead to serious pollution of natural, not much students focus or pay
attention to these heritages, as a result, our school has been focusing on heritage
conservation program in increasing student’s awareness and promoting heritage to
students. To match with sustainable goal 12.8, which focus on promoting universal
understanding of sustainable lifestyles, students should know that the natural
environment is important and valuable. The best way to introduce the importance of
heritage to students is to make student visit to the heritage sites by themselves and have
firsts hand experience to increase their awareness of heritage conservation and connect
with sustainable development. A series of field trip should be organized. For example,
visiting to waterwork facilities in Tai tam and Lai Chi Wo, which includes museum and
heritage trail, so that students could learn about the historical background of theses
heritages. For natural heritage appreciation, visiting UNSECO global park, such as high
island reservoir and Tolo channel Geo area, which include valuable landforms and rich
in biodiversity could also reflects the natural environment of Hong Kong. Through
visits and field trips, students could gain first-hand experience, which would help them
to consolidate their geological knowledge and learn to appreciate the natural
environment more effectively. Hence, students could develop a sense of environmental
protection will be more willing to protect natural environment, so and they would
practice environmental friendly lifestyle such as dispose less municipal solid waste,
practice recycle more often so as to protect the natural environment.
The ambassador and school groups as mentioned in paragraph 4.1.1 can be responsible
for leading and organizing these field trips, which further allows student ambassadors
to take part and responsibility in promoting sustainable development.
