                       3) Renal diabetes:

✓ Genetic condition in which patients suffer from low renal

                     Causes threshold (<120-140 mg/dl).

                                        1. Normal blood glucose level.
                   Characters
                                        2. Glucosuria.

In a patient with a renal threshold of 120 mg/dl, if the blood

glucose level is 140 mg/dl, then 120 mg/dl will be absorbed
                    Example
by the renal tubules and 20 mg/dl will be excreted in the

                                   urine.

                       4) Gestational diabetes:

Several risk factors increase the chances of developing

                                         this condition.

                                          1. Family history of gestational diabetes

Causes and 2. Overweight or obese

risk factors 3. Suffer from polycystic ovary syndrome.

                                          4. Have had a large baby weighing over 9lb.

                                          5. Estrogen increase may reduce the cell uptake of

glucose to the tissue causing hyperglycemia.
