Early marriage is a source of pride and

wealth for some people! Saying no is

an insult to the family. Many girls are

treated very badly, if they refused to

marry. Maisha, you know this all too well.

Together with Zuri, we decided to leave

our country. We hoped for a new life

together in the rich countries. Once there,

we would go to school and find jobs.

And when we are old enough, we would
get married. That was our dream.

But no one would hear of it! We

borrowed some money from a friend.

I will not tell you who she is. I don’t want

to put her life in danger. We joined a
group of other teenagers and young

people migrating north to rich countries.
