Sometimes, they are called people
smugglers. They work for a fee.
A friend gave us the contacts of the
traffickers. Like us, he was also a migrant
who had made it to one of the rich
countries. He is still working there.
Throughout our journey, we kept in touch
with the traffickers. Sometimes, we would
all travel together as tourists.
In other cases, we would split up fearing
we would be detected.
