Sustainability, Efficiency:
new grades from Sandvik
Coromant
Sandvik Coromant, an expert
in cutting tools and tooling systems,
is launching two new high-strength
ISO P turning grades GC4415 and
GC4425 on the market from October 1st, which correspond to
grades P15 and P25.
Grade GC4425 offers improved wear resistance,
heat resistance and toughness, while GC4415 is designed
as a complementary grade to provide tools with increased
productivity and reliability.
Both grades are optimal for use in low alloy and unalloyed
steel applications. Their development is part of the company's
global program aimed at improving existing instrumental
solutions. One of the key goals of the program is to optimize
the economics of customers' production: reduce costs, improve
the quality and quantity of their products.
Tools made from new alloys will allow processing a larger
number of parts in mass and serial production, eliminating
unexpected breakdowns, and also reducing the percentage of rework and scrap.
The new solutions are based on the second generation Inveio® technology. The technology
is characterized by the unidirectional orientation of crystals in the layer of aluminum oxide
coating, which creates a powerful barrier at the transition to the cutting zone. Thanks to this
protective layer, the cutting insert made of new alloys lasts significantly longer than others on
the market today.
"By updating our solutions, making them more durable and reliable, we are contributing
to both environmental friendliness and production efficiency. We are constantly developing
new solutions and using new approaches in working with our customers, which allows us to
bring the enterprises of our customers to a fundamentally new level of interaction with us
and at the same time to obtain economic benefits
in production. For example, our new GC4415 and
GC4425 steel processing alloys proved to be excellent
