Christmas at my Granny's House

I will always remember Christmas at my Granny's house. All the adults would hang

out in the dining room. Granny had a buffet against the wall which would have all the

desserts on it and a big round table

that would be full of food. My mouth

would water at the smell of peach

cobbler and the brownies she had just

made. The kitchen table would be so

full of food that you could barely

squeeze a couple of grown-ups around

the table. All the kids would have to sit

in the utility room at a folding table.

My Granny's house was within

walking distance from my house. We

had to go to my Granny's house every

Christmas unless the weather was so bad you could not get there. As far as the food

goes, we had brown beans, cornbread, mashed potatoes, and usually a roast, plus all

sorts of desserts. This filled all 15 grown-ups and 7 to 8 kids.
