The neighborhood located in Springdale, Arkansas, was coated with white, fragile snow.

Each layer of ground was a perfectly straight line. The warmth in our house protected us from

the harsh cold outside. However, despite the temperatures, me and my sisters planned to utilize

the weather to have fun. Little seven year old me and my sisters--one older, one younger--put on

our puffy jackets which immediately wrapped us in a hot blanket of air around our skin as we

               headed out.

My sisters, Tonya and Bethany, went to the side of our house to make snowmen while I

planned to observe the neighborhood on the trunk of my dad’s the durable, red car. All the roofs

were perfect white triangles and cars were traced white as well. It was like I was on a snow

globe. After admiring the view, I hopped off the trunk to join my sisters. That was interrupted

when I heard loud barking from behind me.

I stopped to look behind me and was quickly dragged down, leaving after images. As I

looked down to my side, all I saw was a big, vicious dog tugging on my puffy jacket. I shrieked

and tried to hit it, as I was being dragged around by the beast. Bethany came running towards

me, trying to pull the dog away from me. They couldn’t break the dog’s grip. Tonya bolted to the

house while my brother and sister kept trying to pull the dog away.

After minutes of dragging, one of the dog’s sharp teeth pierced through my cheek, and a shot

of quick vibrations ran down my body. My heart skipped two beats as I mindlessly stared into the

white sky. Like a tangerine with just the peel, it felt like an out-of-body experience. The snow

landed on my face, like being touched by little water angels. My dad came running out, kicking
