34 The Unforgettable Moments in Life
My Old House
By Bryan Araujo
I remember my old house when I was six years old. It was located in Springdale. My
parents had carpet, so in order for the carpet to not get dirty, they put plastic over it so that any
liquids that were spilled landed on the plastic and not the carpet. Every time I would walk on the
carpet, I would hear the plastic wrinkle under my
feet. My parents are clean freaks and don't like
anything to get dirty at all. They like to keep things
looking like new and that was rule one: do not take
the plastic off of the carpet. Rule number two:
everyone must help on cleaning day. We also had a
kitchen and only my mom could be in there and no
one else because when other people were in the
kitchen, they would take up more space and that
was space we didn't have.
One day I was riding my toy tractor around
my backyard. While I was riding it, I got distracted
by a butterfly. It was a butterfly that I had never seen before. It was so pretty. It had beautiful
blue wings. While looking at it, the tractor tilted over a big rock and I fell, scraping my knees. I
screamed in pain and my parents came out of the house worried that something bad had
happened.
