Christmas with My Family

My family celebrates Christmas differently than most other families. My family always

stays up until midnight on Christmas Eve until it is Christmas Day. When it reaches around

12:00 A.M. to 12:30 A.M. that is when my family and I start to open Christmas presents. At 1

o'clock the whole family sits at a table and eats a lot of Mexican food like tamales, tostadas,

mole, and Pozole. The food is so good!

Some of you may be asking why my family stays up till 1 am for Christmas, and to be

honest, I don't even know. I just grew up with my family celebrating this way every year. When

I tell somebody the way I celebrate Christmas, they kind of Freak out and say I'm lucky because

I get to open presents first before them since it’s so early.

Some of the other things my family does for Christmas are throwing a party and inviting

family and friends over to our house. We all dance. It is always the best part of my year, but

around 3:00 am everybody starts going home. That is the time when my family starts to clean up

and get ready to sleep. That is how my family celebrates Christmas.
