they hadn’t seen each other in a long time. People were coming up to my friend (Lilani) and I
(Robin) like they knew us and we all got along. As me and Lilani was going to the outdoor area
where we had our first race, we stopped by a food stand from our school. We decided to stop for
some barbecue and drinks. We couldn’t resist the smell of the fresh barbecue sauce drizzled on
top of freshly cooked meat. I didn’t eat as much but Lilani ate all of it.
At last, we made it surprisingly within the short amount of time we had. I was up first,
and the weeks before the event, we had practiced, so I was super confident. I made it through the
whole contest super fast. I felt the breeze through my body as I passed my contestants. I passed
the baton to Lilani, but she was holding her stomach before I gave it to her. I didn’t think much
of it because she was going as fast as I did from the start, but then she started slowing down
holding her stomach with a nasty look on her face. She was so close but then the other schools
started catching up. She ended up in last place. We were so upset, confused, and worried as to
why she slowed down. When we asked her, she looked up with a red face and PUKED ALL
OVER ME! I was super disgusted. I felt the hot sun shining on me and the warm chunky liquid
all over me. I smelled like rotting food that had been left out for a decade. I got cleaned up
during the event, and Lilani got sent home because of her stomach ache from the barbecue we
had earlier.
Traditions are both fun and loving experiences, but they can turn out rather bad.
Traditions are always personal and it is what they mean to you and your surroundings.
